I was wondering if you know of any supplements that can help a person with MCS/Environmental Illness, to be able to keep working at a job where they have to be around chemicals and fragrances? Also; do you know if MCS can cause symptoms of MS or Parkinson's and can a person do anything to reverse these symptoms? Thank you.

Hi Birdie

We are literally bombarded with chemicals every day, not only from the environment but from processed foods, personal care products and in the work place. After a while, the body will go on overload and start to produce symptoms. These symptoms can be in the form of an actual disease or product symptoms that may tend to mimic symptoms for other disease.

Unfortunately modern medicine debates as to whether or not MCS (also called the 20th Century Syndrome) actually exists. I believe that it has existed for a long time but since the symptoms can mimic other disease, modern medicine has diagnosed MCS as some of these other diseases---thus why many people just don't get well.

Cleansing the body is the first step in getting rid of MCS. This would include a complete digestive tract, liver/gallbladder, heavy metal, kidney and parasite cleanse. The digestive tract and liver/gallbladder cleanse should be repeated 1x per month for three or four months and then twice yearly. For directions for these cleanses go to:

http://www.oasisadvancedwellness.com/learning/liver-gallbladder-flush.html

The next thing would be to get on a very healthy diet. This would include fresh fruits, vegetables, free-range and hormone-free meat, pure and clean water, lots of fresh garlic and onions, etc. Elimination of MSG (all chemical-additives), white sugar and flour, hydrogenated oils, etc. In other words, eat organically (people who have MCS do not need pesticides and herbicides in their food) and as close to nature as possible.

Supplementation may include the following: intraMax and Medicardium (removes heavy metals and some chemicals). Chlorella is great to take for removing toxins---especially heavy metals. Green tea, antioxidants, essiac tea.

Keeping the elimination routes open is imperative. Toxins leave the body through breathing, sweating, defecation, urination and for women, menses. You can see how important exercise is in keeping these routes open, so exercise would be the next step in toxin removal.

The ideal situation and in order to improve health and limit symptoms would be to find another job. If that is not possible then make sure that your skin is protected and that you wear a mask, if possible. Get a shower filter and make sure that you shower immediately when returning home from work. You may want to research detoxing baths and do some of these 2-3x weekly.

The suggestions above a just a few. You will find a total health program (including supplementation) and diet for getting the body healthy in my e-book - Optimum Health Strategies...Doing What Works.

Thank you for all of the suggestions. I have done cleanses, and have a very healthy diet with no processed foods. I am taking a lot of supplements and antioxidants. I am not able to use chlorella, as it gives me terrible headaches; and I can't find a green tea that I am able to use.
I am wondering if something might be needed for the immune system?

In my opinion, two of the best supplements for immune supplementation are glyconutrients and medicinal mushrooms. We have combined both of these in a product called GlycoEssential 7. You can read more about this supplement at: www.glyconutrients-center.org
