HI.
I have been on a spirulina and juice fast for 12 days now. I feel great and recently went to my regular dr. for a checkup. He scheduled me for a stress test, because I've been having some numbness and pin-like pain between my right and sometimes left shoulder blade & my spine. I have a past history of shortness of breath, chest pains, and a slight arrythmia. However, these symptoms have almost entirely gone away since being diagnosed and treated with sleep apnea 8 yrs. ago (c-pap).
I still have occasional heart "flips" I call them, or times when I'm aware of my heartbeat but that's it. My mom's parents both have heart disease, as does her brother. Based on these things, my dr. ordered a nuclear stress test. I also have hypothyroidism, treated w/ synthroid (0.75mg) and pernicious anemia...treated w/ monthly b-12 injections and weekly sublingual b-12. I am overweight (5'5"-165#), but losing steadily. I'm also wondering if the pain I'm having could be attributed to my scoliosis (backwards "s" curve), since I've had the same thing in my left hip for several years now.
I am concerned what the cardiolite will do to me....since I've been fasting especially, and if the test is even necessary. It would be nice to know that my fasting is not hurting me. The test is scheduled for Sept. 27th. By then, I will be nearing the end of my fast or on all raw for awhile to break the fast.
Thank you so much!
D. Ann
P.S. The dr. also "mentioned" MS as well, so I don't know WHAT to think. |

Yes, the pain could definitely be from the scoliosis. I would highly recommend that you find a good chiropractor that deals in natural health. He would definitely be able to let you know what is going on with the scoliosis and your hip and possibly give you some exercises to help with the pain.
Also, many people who are on thyroid medication but don't want to take a chemical med are using Armour Thyroid. You may want to check into this as people seem to feel better and get better results than from Synthroid. Talk to your healthcare practitioner about this.
Doing a raw vegetable fast is a great way to do effective body cleansing and toxin removal as long as you are making sure that you are getting sufficient vitamins and minerals. Hopefully you are juicing organic vegetables. If the fast has made you feel a little weak then you may want to reschedule the test. However, I would recommend that you do get the test done in order to rule out anything serious. You can take chlorella afterward to help detox from the cardiolite.
I would also recommend that you consider performing a liver/gallbladder flush in order for toxins from your fast to be removed effectively. It would probably be wise to do this after the stress test.
