“
For the first time in our history, we have generated an entire secondary, virtual, densely complex environment — an electromagnetic soup — that essentially overlaps the human nervous system.”

We’ll discuss some ideas for healthy drink alternatives, but first let’s lay a few ground rules about what not to take into our bodies.

What The Average American Eats in a Year
What Are We Eating? How Much Are We Eating? While I find the following chart very sobering, I do not find it shocking. Healthy diet is foundational to good health and well-being. In fact, we can say that in most instances one’s diet will be proportional to their current state of health and wellness.

The Gateway to Preventative Medicine – ReThink Chiropractic
The decision to use a chiropractor for one’s primary care doctor continues to soar in popularity. Why? Because most chiropractors now promote more than just spinal manipulation. Whole body health and wellness as opposed to the conventional medicine model of just treating symptoms or crisis care is now offered by most chiropractors. The advantages of choosing a knowledgeable chiropractor as one’s primary care doctor are many (see graphic below) with the main advantage being that the chiropractic focus is on wellness=positive rather than disease=negative. Alzheimer’s Disease – Researchers Discover Importance of Tocopherols and Tocotrienols
Swedish researchers have discovered that the lower your brain levels of tocotrienols and tocopherols (the entire family of vitamin E) the higher the chance that you will experience mild cognitive impairment or Alzheimer’s disease. The Swedish researchers analyzed the vitamin E status in 168 people with Alzheimer’s, 166 people with mild cognitive impairment, and 187 cognitively normal people.

1 in 4 American Women on Drugs for Stress, Depression, Anxiety
More than one-in-five adult Americans took at least one pharmaceutical drug commonly used to treat a psychiatric or behavioral disorder in 2010 according to “America’s State of Mind,” a Medco Health Solutions, Inc. analysis of trends in mental health medication usage among approximately 2.5 million insured Americans, comparing utilization of antidepressants, antipsychotics, attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) drugs and anti-anxiety treatments from 2001 to 2010. Even more concerning about this situation is that for American women, the numbers rose to one in four. While I’m not totally surprised at these numbers considering all the advertising that pharmaceutical companies are allowed to do, it does cause me to stop and think about better solutions to this health crisis.
