Such a bountiful harvest of summer fruits and vegetables are now over-flowing the tables at local Farmer's Markets and organic grocery stores. There is no better time than summer to begin healthy eating habits as the bounty is truly plentiful. As the body is fed foods that contain live enzymes and nutrients along with oxygen from these live foods, the body is able to heal quicker and more efficiently. Enjoy fresh, organic fruits for breakfast and as healthy snacks. Learn how to make colorful and healthy, colorful salads and cold soups. And don't forget to drink plenty of pure, clean water during the hot and humid days of summer. Keeping your body hydrated is just as important as eating healthy foods.
Along the lines of healthy foods, I always recommend a foundational organic, multi-vitamin-mineral food-bases supplement. intraMAX for adults and intraKID for children are the absolute best when it comes to providing the body with the vitamins and nutrients that it needs. Certainly these products do not take the place of healthy eating but are an "all-natural-organic insurance policy" for the body. At OAW, we are always here for "service after the sale" from our experienced and knowledgeable natural-health trained customer service reps.
We have several new OAW products that will be hitting the OAW website very soon. Be sure to stay tuned. Also, please remember that we add to the OAW Knowledge Base weekly where you will find articles concerning natural healthcare from some of the most respected practitioners and natural health doctors in the business.

A bottle of red wine every week is better at protecting you from heart disease than cholesterol-lowering statin drugs. And if you're moderately well off, you're far less likely to develop heart disease than someone from a poorer family.
People who try to reduce the risk of heart disease by lowering their levels of the 'bad' LDL (low-density lipoprotein) cholesterol may develop cancer instead. Even 'bad' cholesterol seems to have some useful purpose, and reducing it to too low a level - usually by taking statin drugs - could make us candidates for cancer.
In a 2004 study, researchers divided 930 patients with colorectal polyps into two groups to receive either a 1,200 mg daily supplement of calcium carbonate (OAW recommends Calcium Orotate because of its ability to get into the cell) or a placebo. Colonoscopies conducted about one year and four years after each subjects' initial exams showed that those who received the calcium had fewer polyps than those in the placebo group. The supplements proved most effective against advanced polyps. When researchers followed up on the subjects five years after calcium supplementation was discontinued, polyp risk was reduced by more than 40 percent and the risk of all colon cancers was reduced by 35 percent among those who received the calcium.
Excessive showering - even in the purest water - can actually rob your hair and body of natural oils. It can also alter your body's pH (especially if you're using certain alkaline shampoos and soaps). To make matters worse, our public-water supplies are heavily chlorinated - which dries out the skin. Because of public water contamination the use of a good shower filter is always recommended.
The bathroom is easily scented by placing essential oil scented cotton balls in inconspicuous places, or sprinkle oils directly onto silk or dried flower arrangements or wreaths. Using essential oils is much healthier than bathroom sprays that harm the environment and contain many chemicals.
Children who are treated with antibiotics during their first year are twice as likely to develop asthma by the age of seven, new research has discovered. The risk was highest among children who received more than four courses of antibiotics, and who were given 'broad-spectrum' drugs for general healthcare.
Research results shows that Omega-3 polyunsaturated fatty acids protect against the development and progression of retinopathy, a deterioration of the retina, in mice. These study results are important because they provide a reasonable biological explanation for findings from a number of human studies on diet and retinal disease, and they identify low-cost and widely available nutrient-based treatment approaches that may show merit in future research on diseases that damage retinal blood vessels and nerve cells.
In a study funded by the National Institutes of Health, Yong Q. Chen of the Wake Forest University School of Medicine in Winston-Salem, North Carolina, and team, fed a diet rich in omega-3 fatty acids to a group of mice that had been genetically engineered to develop prostate cancer. The omega-3 mice developed fewer tumors and lived longer than those on other diets. The scientists speculate that consuming foods high in omega-3s, like fish and nuts, may benefit men who are genetically predisposed to prostate cancer. FARMERS WIN A ROUND AGAINST ROUNDUP - Four Monsanto patents for genetically modified crops have been rejected by the United States Patent and Trademark Office on the grounds that Monsanto has been using the patents "to harass, intimidate, sue - and in some cases literally bankrupt - American farmers." http://www.ag-ip-news.com/GetArticle.asp?Art_ID=4686&lang=en
