President Nixon declared War on Cancer in 1971.  Thirty-three years later the statistics show that 1 in 3 people will develop cancer in their lifetime—soon it will be 1 in 2.  We are not winning the war!  Most people don’t know that they do have choices in their avenue of treatment.  There are solutions.  This may be the most important seminar that you ever attend as you will come away with knowledge that is priceless. The information from this seminar could literally save your life or that of a family member!

Bill Henderson, author of Cure Your Cancer and founder of Get and Stay Well in San Antonio Texas, and Dr. Loretta Lanphier, founder and CEO of Oasis Advanced Wellness  will be presenting the most up-to-date advances in cancer reversal and prevention in the field of natural medicine. After a four-year battle with ovarian cancer Bill’s former wife, Marjorie, died in 1994. After watching her die Bill began a to search for alternative solutions. The book Cure Your Cancer is the result of his search. Dr. Loretta Lanphier has been privileged to share her cancer survival story with hundreds of people during seminars and lectures. Her knowledge of the cancer industry, cancer politics and natural ways to bring the body into balance plus her own personal experience with cancer allows the audience to come away with a vast amount of information that is not widely known.

If you live in the Houston area we personally invite you to join us on September 19th for this very powerful and informative seminar.

Full Body Scans Raise Cancer Risk, U.S. Study Shows

 Tue Aug 31,12:07 AM ET

WASHINGTON (Reuters) - People who pay for whole-body X-ray scans in the hope of finding tumors at their earliest stages may, ironically, be raising their overall risk of cancer, doctors warned on Tuesday.

The scans are marketed as a way to catch cancer before symptoms begin, but the radiation from the scans themselves could cause cancer, the researchers said.

CT or computed tomography scans involve X-rays, but computer software and multiple angles produce a higher-quality image than the traditional flat X-ray.

The scans are not the same as magnetic resonance imaging or MRI scans, which do not expose the body to radiation.

Writing in the September issue of the journal Radiology, radiation oncologist David Brenner and colleagues at Columbia University in New York said whole-body CT scans pack a considerable radiation wallop.

"The radiation dose from a full-body CT scan is comparable to the doses received by some of the atomic-bomb survivors from Hiroshima and Nagasaki, where there is clear evidence of increased cancer risk," Brenner said in a statement.

They studied survivors who got low doses of radiation from the bombs, not those who got the highest doses.

The dose from a single full-body CT is only slightly lower than the mean dose experienced by some atomic bomb survivors, they said, and is nearly 100 times that of a typical screening mammogram.

A 45-year-old person who gets one full-body CT screening would have an estimated lifetime cancer death risk of approximately 0.08 percent, which would produce cancer in one in 1,200 people, they estimated.

However, a 45-year-old who has annual full-body CT scans for 30 years would accrue an estimated lifetime cancer mortality risk of about 1.9 percent or almost one in 50.

The risk may be worth it for someone who knows he or she has a high probability of cancer, such as those with inherited genetic mutations or a family history of the disease, Brenner said.

Cancer is the second leading cause of death in the United States after heart disease and is expected to kill 550,000 people this year.

Acupressure - Restore Luster To Your Skin

Restore the luster to your skin and reduce wrinkles the natural way—using acupressure. With roots in Chinese medicine, acupressure uses touch to stimulate the flow of energy and promote healing. Plus, you don’t have to be an expert to do it.

Using the tips of your fingers, stimulate the points below with gentle to medium pressure. Acupressure should be performed bilaterally, meaning if you treat a point on your right side first, treat the same point on your left side before moving onto the next point.

  1. Facial Beauty
This point is located at the bottom of your cheekbone, directly below your pupil. It helps sagging, poor complexion, and blemishes.
  2. Heavenly Appearance
This is the indentation found directly below your ear lobe, just behind your jawbone. It helps to balance the thyroid gland, which in turn increases the luster of skin.
  3. Heavenly Pillar
This pressure point can be found just below the base of your skull, a finger-width away from the spine. It is excellent for reducing the appearance of swollen eyes.

Chemicals have replaced bacteria and viruses as the main threat to health. The diseases we are beginning to see as the major causes of death in the latter part of (the 1900's) and into the 21st century are diseases of chemical origin.
Dr. Dick Irwin, Toxicologist, Texas A&M University

"All evidence to date indicates that any breeding technique that alters a plant or animal--whether by genetic engineering or other methods--has the potential to create unintended changes in the quality or amounts of food components that could harm health."  Bettie Sue Masters, chair of the NAS research committee and a distinguished professor in chemistry at the University of Texas Health Science Center in San Antonio, Texas.

15 Most Costly Medical Conditions – 1987-2000

(Which Medical Conditions Account for the Rise in Health Care Spending? By: Kenneth E. Thorpe – Health Affair Journal – August 25, 2004)

1)Heart Disease
2) Pulmonary Conditions (asthma, allergies)
3) Mental Disorders
4)Cancer
5) Hypertension
6)Trauma
7)Cerebrovascular Disease
8) Arthritis
9)Diabetes
10)Back Problems
11) Skin Disorders
12)Pneumonia
13) Infectious Disease
14) Endocrine (Hormones)
15) Kidney

The 15 most costly medical conditions accounted for half of the overall growth in health care spending between 1987 and 2000.  The Top 5 accounted fro 31%.  Four out of the tope five were a rise in treated prevalence rather than rising treatment costs.

Dr. Lanphier's Comment - Everyone of these health concerns can be alleviated with 1) Prevention through lifestyle changes in diet, exercise, supplementation and stress reduction; 2) Natural health programs to bring the body back into balance once disease has set in.  All at a fraction of the cost of pharmaceuticals, radiation and surgery.  This is why we must have reform in the insurance industry to allow people to take responsibility for their health and their healthcare choices--whether it be natural or allopathic.

How To Choose A Natural Progesterone Cream

This "How To" guide for choosing a natural progesterone cream, based on research by Dr. John Lee, will help you select the best natural progesterone cream for you.

What to Look for When Choosing a Progesterone Cream:

§        Buy only creams made with USP progesterone. Looking for the USP label is the first and most important standard you should look for in a progesterone cream. USP (United States Pharmacopeia) products and ingredients conform to the legal requirements of the U.S. Food and Drug Administration. Products or ingredients labeled USP also mean that they are produced in accordance with the principles outlined in the FDA’s Good Manufacturing Practices.

§         The USP label on progesterone cream also means that the cream contains natural progesterone that the human body can assimilate. This is not the case with all "progesterone" creams - especially creams made from wild yam extract. Wild Yam cream IS NOT USP progesterone cream. This is an important point that will be addressed in greater detail later in this article.

§         Select a cream with 500 mg to 1000 mg of progesterone per ounce. The correct dosage is as important as the quality of progesterone used. A natural progesterone cream can be made of the highest quality USP progesterone but if there is not enough progesterone per ounce, you will receive no benefit. Although clinical studies place the level of progesterone at between 500 and 1000 mg per ounce, some creams currently on the market contain only 20 mg per ounce. Ask before buying if the label does not clearly state how much progesterone the cream contains. Otherwise, you might be throwing your money away on a cream that cannot possible offer relief of your menopause, perimenopause and PMS symptoms.

§         More is not always better, although for severe symptoms more progesterone per ounce may be needed to see results. Creams with over 1000 mg of progesterone per ounce could cause unwanted side effects like shortness of breath and depression when used for long periods of time or with women who do not have serious symptoms.

§         Ask for independent laboratory certification that verifies the level of progesterone. A retailer might say the progesterone cream contains a certain amount of progesterone per ounce, but how do you know if the statement is true? According to a recent study, there is a 50/50 chance that the claim is not true. A recent study of progesterone cream ingredients showed that half of the creams tested did not contain any measurable progesterone - none.

§         This is yet another clear example of "Buyer Beware." The success of quality progesterone creams has brought vendors and "parking lot manufacturers" out of the woodwork. A reputable company tests each and every batch (not just every-so-often) to assure that their product is what it claims to be and a reputable company will gladly provide a copy of the batch certification.

§         Deal only with companies with a phone number to call and live support staff willing to answer questions. In other words, deal only with companies that can provide customer service. If you have questions about dosages, applications for your specific needs or any other question concerning progesterone cream and women’s health, you will want the ability to call and talk to a live person. You want to work with a company that understands the importance of educating women about natural hormone replacement, the need for hormone balance and understanding the perimenopause and menopause process.

§         A long list of ingredients, however “healthy and natural” they are considered, does not necessarily make a good progesterone cream.  For example some women may not need Dong Quai, Chaste Tree Berry, Black Cohosh, etc.  It is always better to use herbs that you need and not a “one-size-fits-all” conglomeration. Some herbs are not intended for long-term use especially if you plan on becoming pregnant.  Companies who only give a partial list of ingredients or use the term "plus more" indicate that caution should be observed.  Never buy from a company that refuses to give you a complete list of all ingredients.

Progesterone Cream Ingredients to Avoid:

˜     Wild yam extract - the body does not convert wild yam extract into progesterone. Again, more on this in greater detail later in this article.

˜      Mineral oil - blocks the absorption of progesterone.

˜     Methyl Paraben, Propyl Paraben, Butyl Paraben or any of the related Parabens - they are estrogenic and can stimulate the estrogen receptor. Parabens are hormone disruptors. Widely used in cleaning products as preservatives, paraben is usually preceded by the prefixes methyl-, ethyl-, butyl-, or propyl.  Parabens may cause contact dermatitis in some individuals.  It is unclear whether these ingredients can increase the risk of breast cancer but we would rather err on the side of safety with these ingredients.  According to Dr. Hulda Clark, cancer patients often exhibit an overload of parabens in their body. Pass by progesterone creams containing parabens and select one with all natural ingredients.

˜     Stearal konium chloride - an emulsifier, is highly toxic and can be lethal if ingested.

˜     Ethoxylated wetting agents, such as PEG 8 Stearate, PEG 100 Stearate, Polyethylene Glycol, Polysorbate 60, or Polysorbate 80, which may be contaminated with 1,4-dioxane, a known carcinogen.

˜     Triethanolamine - May form carcinogenic compounds called nitrosamines on the skin or in the body after absorption. Thought to possibly cause cancer in humans, based on limited data.

˜     Propylene Glycol - Propylene glycol is recognized as a neurotoxin by the National Institute for Occupational Health and Safety in the U.S. It is known to cause contact dermatitis, kidney damage and liver abnormalities. It is widely used as a moisture-carrying ingredient in place of glycerine because it is cheaper and more readily absorbed through the skin. The Material Safety Data Sheet for propylene glycol warns workers handling this chemical to avoid skin contact.

USP vs. Wild Yam Extract - BIG Difference!

Wild yam or wild yam extract that has not been processed in a lab is not progesterone, is ineffective and can create unwanted side effects. Even though wild yam contains diosgenin, the base molecule for progesterone, there are no enzymes in the human body that will convert diosgenin into progesterone.

Dr. John Lee, the leading authority on progesterone cream, states in his book What Your Doctor May Not Tell You About Menopause that "There is no evidence that the human body converts diosgenin to hormones."

Here’s the confusing part; Almost every USP progesterone cream gets its start from soy or yam. However, in the laboratory some parts of the diosgenin are cleaved and progesterone is the result.

Creams marketed as "wild yam extract" progesterone creams missed the crucial laboratory-processing step that allows the transformation of diosgenin into progesterone.

Yam extract IS NOT natural progesterone. Insist on USP natural progesterone. Just remember to buy only USP grade progesterone cream. Women who use a properly formulated USP progesterone cream almost always experience benefits.

You get what you pay for and cheaper is not always better. Unconverted diosgenin is a cheap way to produce a progesterone cream so a markedly low price is usually a good clue that the cream has not been converted.

Drink Up!

Your body uses 10 glasses of water each day through breathing, sweating, urination, etc.

The body is 75% water and the brain is 85% water.  We need to be drinking at least 10 glasses of clean, pure water each day in order to “keep up” or we will become dehydrated.

No Money To Get Healthy?

Kari Hastings is 20-something years old. Each year she spends $750 on double lattes and muffins from Starbucks; $1,250 on deli lunches instead of bringing a healthy lunch to work; $2,000 on $4.50 drinks after work; $1,820 on cigarettes; $2000 eating at fast food restaurants (dinner & weekends); $625 on pop; $600 on cookies, cakes, ice cream, candy bars, potatoes chips; $1,250 on concert tickets; $700 on over-the-counter meds & doctor/dentist visits (result of unhealthy eating); $500 on movies & popcorn; $400 on CDs; and $960 on cell phone charges. That comes to $12,855. If she spent $3600 of that on practicing a healthy lifestyle through proper diet, supplementation, exercise, stress reduction, etc., she could still invest $9255 and have a nest egg of $2 million when she retires, assuming taxes don’t eat her up.  Not to mention that she will be able to enjoy this retirement money as chances are she will be free of illness and disease as a result of practicing “prevention”. Think about it!                 --Dr. Loretta Lanphier
