Hi [fname]
This has already been a tough year for our family. Having two parents
that have serious health concerns and moving office and home closer to them
has been difficult and emotionally draining. Packing up and leaving a
home where you have lived for 19 years is difficult at best as the feeling
of leaving a part of yourself behind is quite real. That’s the
bad news. The good news is that we are now in a town, both office and
home, that is beautiful and clean and in a home that is brand new and really
nice. We are now much closer to my parents and are able to spend more
time in giving help and encouragement. I am thankful that my parents
are still with us and, even through health difficulties, are exhibiting a strong
fortitude to continue on. I am thankful that my parents have taught me
the importance of gratitude and thankfulness. It’s quite easy to
be thankful when everything is going your way, but maybe a little more difficult
when life seems to be smacking you in the eye every day. I have learned
how to be thankful in times of plenty and how to be thankful in times of true
need. Actually what we have or don’t have should have no bearing
on our thermometer of thankfulness. I have learned through first-hand
experience to be thankful for the gift of health, healing and well-being and
how important it is to take the gift of health and nourish it as much as possible.
What are you thankful for this year? As you gather around your Thanksgiving
table in a couple of weeks consider asking each person to name two things they
are especially thankful for this year. Chances are a lot more than two
things will be mentioned. In our “hurry up and get it now” society,
we often over-look nor take the time to express thankfulness or remind ourselves
of all the blessings of life. After that great (hopefully healthy) Thanksgiving
dinner, take a walk outside. Notice the beautiful colors, the cool breeze,
the warmth of the sun, the freshness of rain, the beautiful snow, the birds,
the wildlife, the plants, the sky and the fresh air. These are things
to be thankful for yet we usually take them for granted. As you walk
think about all the positives and blessings in your life---faith, family, friends,
job,
health,
home, food,
etc.
Over half
of the world’s population no nothing of the blessings that we take for
granted here in the North America.
Consider the following facts. Then count your blessings.
· If you have food in
the refrigerator, clothes on your back, a roof overhead and a place to sleep
... you are richer than 75% of people in this world.
· If you have money in the bank, in your wallet, and spare change in a dish someplace
... you are among the top 8% of the world's wealthy.
· If you woke up this
morning with more health than illness ... you are more blessed than the million
who will not survive this week.
· If you have never experienced
the danger of battle, the loneliness of imprisonment, the agony of torture, or
the pangs of starvation...you are ahead of 500 million
people in the world.
· If you can attend a
church or other places of worship without fear of harassment, arrest, torture,
or death ... you are more blessed than three billion people
in the world.
· If your parents are
still alive and still married ...you are very rare (and your parents too!).
· If you hold up your
head with a smile on your face and are truly thankful ... you are blessed because
the majority can, but most do not.
· If you can hold someone's
hand, hug them or even touch them on the shoulder ... you are blessed because
you can offer healing touch.
· If you can read this
message, you are more blessed than over two billion people in the world that
cannot read at all.
The staff of Oasis Advanced Wellness expresses our gratitude to you in allowing
us to be a partner in your health. We send many blessings to you during
this season of Thanksgiving…

Where did the word 'marijuana' come from? In the mid 1930s, the M-word
was created to tarnish the good image and phenomenal history of the hemp
plant...as you will read. The facts cited here, with references, are
generally verifiable in the Encyclopedia Britannica which was printed
on hemp paper for 150 years:

Basting, Roasted Turkey

This method requires no basting because the turkey roasts covered, sealing
in juices for extremely tender meat. Savory herbs add a wonderful aroma and
delicate flavor. For an especially juicy turkey, brine your bird before roasting.

· A
study of people aged 20 to 70 found that those who had the best social

· Men

say the nutrient is active in the testes, where sperm cells are formed.
· Inhaling
anatabine, anabase, nicotine, monicotine and other carcinogens found in
cigarette smoke results in reduction in bone density, low back problems,
increased chances of fractures and reduced chances of bone healing.
· In a Canadian study of 2,400 women, researchers found that exercising,
combined with not smoking or indulging in alcoholic drinks, lowered the
long-term risk of breast cancer by 70%.
· People with diabetes who took 20 grams of rice bran a day reduced their

· Number of donuts Americans consume every twelve months: 10 BILLION.
· Not only to pesticide-free crops offer higher quality protein and more
Vitamin C, iron, magnesium and phosphorus than traditionally grown crops,
they also contain significantly fewer nitrates and heavy metals.
· Since
most kidney stones are made of calcium, many doctors recommend a loc-calcium
diet to abet the condition. Not so fast, say Italian
researchers, who found that reducing dietary salt and animal protein, but
keep calcium constant, reduced the risk of stone formation. (NEJM 2002)
