The Excommunication of a Heretic - Russian Scientist Claimed GM Soya was Toxic for Rats
A Russian scientist claimed GM soya was toxic for rats.
Because her scientific studies were not scientifically completely
waterproof, that allowed a well-known journal to hire assessors or
assassins. And the GM industry could not resist the opportunity to
participate.

Researchers continue to delve into the connection between paratuberculosis infection and the onset of Crohn's disease (inflammatory bowel disease). Dairy products, particularly milk and cheese are the most likely source of transmission to humans since this mycobacterium often resists Pasteurization. Several studies show that paratuberculosis is present in retail milk in countries such as United Kingdom, USA, Czech Republic, and recently in Argentina. [Review Argentina Microbiology 39: 57-68, 2007] In Switzerland, 4.2% of raw milk cheese samples were found to harbor paratuberculosis. Swiss researchers say: "As long as the link between paratuberculosis and Crohn's disease in humans remains unclear, measures designed to minimize public exposure should also include a focus on milk products."
Soaked and sprouted seeds can be real nutritional powerhouses. The sprouting process helps develop healthy nutrients in the seeds including vitamin C, carotenoids, and B vitamins, especially B2, B5, and B6. Even more importantly, sprouting neutralizes phytic acid, a substance present in the bran of all seeds that inhibits the absorption of calcium, magnesium, iron, and zinc.
Prostate cancer is the second most common cancer among men (skin cancer is the first), according to the American Cancer Society (ACS). In 2007 alone, nearly 219,000 new cases of prostate cancer are expected in the United States, and over 27,000 men will die from the disease.
Agricultural Research Service (ARS) scientists have found that blueberry extracts helped quell the inflammation that was produced when the brain's immune cells responded to oxidative stress, based on a cell-culture study. Lead author, molecular biologist Francis Lau, and neuroscientist James Joseph conducted the study at the USDA's Jean Mayer Human Nutrition Research Center on Aging at Tufts University in Boston, Mass.

A new Harvard study finds that men who had the highest blood levels of vitamin D were 29% less apt to die from ANY cancer (including brain tumor) than those who had the least blood D. The vitamin appeared to be particularly effective in preventing esophageal and stomach cancers. According to one measure, an extra 1500 IU of a vitamin D supplement may cut such cancer deaths by 45%.
A new clinical study provided evidence that green tea catechins can stimulate production of cancer-protective enzymes in people with low natural levels - the first to demonstrate this effect in humans, say researchers. Populations of counties where green tea is consumed as part of the every day diet, such as Japan and China, tend to have a lower incidence of cancer than people in countries where green tea is less commonly drunk. Consequently, green tea catechins - antioxidant polyphenols - have been the focus of considerable research in recent years.
Probiotics, friendly bacteria with known benefits for intestinal health, may boost the number of bowel movements and relieve constipation, suggests a new pilot study from the Netherlands. "Given their safety profile, probiotics could be an attractive compound to manipulate gastrointestinal motility in constipated children," wrote lead author Noor Bekkali. "Based on the results of our pilot study we hypothesise that a mixture of bifidobacteria and lactobacilli producing lactic, acetic and other acids resulting in a lowering of pH in the colon are effective in enhancing motility of the colon, subsequently leading to a decrease in colonic transit time," he added.
A mysterious epidemic of thyroid disease in cats may be linked to flame retardants common in carpets, foam furniture and mattresses, according to U.S. Environmental Protection Agency researchers, who suggest that scientists have underestimated the damaging health risk the chemicals pose to humans.
B2 (thiamin) helps prevent headaches through a mechanism involved in cell energy production and works particularly well for migraine, cluster, and tension headaches. Take up to 400 mg daily. Remember to always take a full B-Complex in addition to supplementing with other B vitamins.
Chemotherapy works in direct conflict with natural detoxification therapies. When a patient receives chemotherapy, a percentage of each dose stays lodged within the body. This percentage varies, but it can be anywhere between 20% and 40% per dose If a person receives 10 doses of chemotherapy, they can have as much as 200% to 400% of a single dose in their bodies, or between 2 and 4 regular doses. Knowing this, chemotherapy is frequently given in doses that are just below lethal levels. Often the strategy behind chemotherapy administration and dosage is to poison the tumor before you poison the body. This strategy assumes that tumor cells have less of a resistance to poisons than normal cells do. Gerson Institute
