Almost all women, at some point |
A woman's vagina naturally produces a clear, relatively odorless vaginal lubrication. How much lubricant is produced is influenced by a number of different factors and varies from woman to woman.
Factors that may influence vaginal dryness are:
Vaginal dryness, for most women, is a direct result of lower estrogen levels that occur naturally during menopause, after the ovaries are removed and at other times in life. Estrogen actually causes the vagina to thicken. However, when estrogen decreases, the tissues of the vagina, which are naturally thin, become less elastic, drier and more fragile.
Low estrogen levels may result from:
Vaginal dryness during perimenopause and beyond occurs in 80% of women. Women who stop using HRT may find that they experience vaginal dryness in a more severe manner.

Wellness Water
Water is the most important ingredient of any product and thus should be of the highest quality and purity. Wellness Water is energized, magnetized, purified and enhanced for health. We start with distilled water (packaged in glass bottles) and pass it through the wellness water enhancement system containing the following elements:
Vegetable Stearic Acid
Our Stearic Acid is 100% (vegetable) derived, with no added chemicals, emulsifiers or other agents. Popularly used to emulsify, thicken, bind, and stabilize lotions and creams, Stearic Acid has become the number one choice for most body care manufacturers. Stearic Acid occurs naturally in vegetable and animal fats. Stearic acid is best known for the "pearly" and "waxy" feel that it adds to your body care products, which ultimately has a cooling effect when applied on the skin.
Organic Sweet Almond Oil
Sweet Almond Oil is one of the most useful and commonly used oils. It is great for all skin types as an acting emollient and is best known for its ability to soften, soothe, and re-condition the skin. It is truly wonderful as a carrier oil and is equally superb for addition to body care products. Natural expeller pressed oil from raw almond kernels and exceptionally rich in fatty acids. Certified organic.
Organic Aloe Vera
Aloe Vera is known to penetrate, re-hydrate and soothe the skin. We use Aloe Vera 200x made from the Aloe Barbadensis Miller Plant. Studies show that aloe vera improves the skin's ability to hydrate itself, aids in the removal of dead skin cells and has an effective penetrating ability that helps transport healthy substances through the skin. Aloe vera is also a great skin moisturizer that helps to keep skin supple by bringing oxygen to the cells, and therefore increasing the synthesis and strength of skin tissue. Aloe Vera also acts as a natural preservative. Our Aloe Vera does not contain sodium benzoate. Sodium Benzoate contains the same active ingredient portion "Benzoate" as Methyl Paraben and Propel Paraben.
Vitamins A, B-Complex, C, D & E
We have chosen the above vitamins for their goodness to the skin.
Vitamin E (mixed tocopherols and tocotrienols) has been shown to have a wide variety of skin benefits. Many studies have shown that vitamin E can help decrease the effects of psoriasis, erythema, and may help in reducing the risk of skin cancer. Vitamin E has also been shown to significantly help in the reduction of scaring from wounds and has been shown to help reduce the appearance of stretch marks on the skin.
Vitamin A in lotions and creams is a necessity for overall healthy skin. Vitamin A also helps to maintain elasticity and the mucous membranes. A few of the lesser known uses of Vitamin A in a topical lotion is that it helps remedy rough, dry skin for people suffering from psoriasis.
Vitamin C (Camu-Camu) is a very effective antioxidant and will protect skin against environmental oxidative pollutants and UV radiation. Dermatologists utilize vitamin C because it is proven to fight the damaging effects of free radicals.
Vitamin D-3 is formed in the body in part by interaction with sun light. Vitamin D is considered to be an antioxidant and anti-carcinogen, and may play a role in skin pigmentation. Since it can be absorbed by the skin, applying this vitamin topically can have an effect on skin health as well as overall health.
B-Complex vitamins are a team, where all of them are water-soluble, which means that they are absorbed directly into the blood. B-Complex vitamins are coenzymes involved in energy production, and may be useful for relieving anxiety.
Rosemary Essential Oil
Has shown antimicrobial and antifungal activity when used in skincare products. We use pure, organic 100% Rosemary Essential Oil.
Organic Sea Buckthorn Oil
Scientists now believe the most delicate of body tissues, the mucous membranes, have the greatest need for Omega 7 fatty acids. Just as the skin protects the outside of the body, mucous membranes protect the inside of the body. They line the digestive, respiratory, and urogenital tracts, as well as the inner surface of the eyes. They are important channels for interactions between the body and the environment, and are the major routes for pathogens, toxins, and allergens to enter the body. Thus mucous membranes play an important role in the health of the entire body. Environmental stressors like pollution and toxic chemicals, toxic foods, and even natural aging processes such as menopause can challenge the sensitive mucous membranes. Fortunately, Omega 7 fatty acids, which contain palmitoleic acid -- a fatty acid found in human skin that helps moisturize and repair -- are now being recognized as nourishment that can protect, replenish, moisturize, and restore mucus membranes. Omega 7 is also very important for women going through the pre-menopausal and menopause years who suffer from symptoms of vaginal dryness or the feeling of dryness through the entire body. Vegetarians who may not get a good level of omega 3 fatty acids in their diet will also benefit from omega 7 fatty acids.
