Moroccan Cold-Pressed Argan Oil
Discover what Europeans have known for years
about the benefits of pure Argan Oil!
"The real find, however, is argan oil, made from the nuts of the argan tree, which
grows almost exclusively in this region (Essaouira). The oil, which is said to have
restorative and age-defying effects…high in vitamin E and essential fatty acids,
it is believed to help all sorts of skin conditions: dry skin, acne, psoriasis, eczema,
wrinkles. Moroccans slather it on their skin, hair, nails and even their babies."

What Is Oasis Gold™ Moroccan Argan Oil?
Oasis Gold™ Moroccan Argan oil is an oil produced from the kernels of the exotic argan tree, endemic to Morocco, that is highly valued for its nutritive, cosmetic as well as numerous medicinal properties. There are two grades of Argan oil – cosmetic and culinary. The major difference between the two grades of Argan oil is that the food grade Argan oil is roasted before it is grinded to extract the oil so as to make it edible. The cosmetic Argan oil grade is cold-pressed from raw Argon seeds and not roasted so as to retain its high amounts of essential fatty acids and medicinal properties. The species Argania once covered North Africa and is now endangered and under protection of UNESCO. Argan oil remains one of the rarest oils in the world due the small and very specific growing areas.
Cold pressing is usually done in one of two ways 1) in a
traditional manner (hand pressed oil) or 2) in a mechanical way (using cold
oil presses). Most of the argan oil distributed in America for cosmetic use is mechanically
pressed. Mechanically pressed oil is not only more cost effective but no water
has to be added and the shelf life of the oil is up to 24 months instead of
approximately 6-10 months. Cold pressing means that the oil is
pressed at temperatures below 60 degree C. 100% cold pressed argan oil will
be absorbed quickly in the skin without leaving a heavy greasy film. The
color is usually deep yellow gold, but can change slightly with each
harvest. The natural scent is nutty and should gradually disappear
within about 15-20 minutes after application. If the nutty
scent is not obvious, most likely the oil has been heated causing it to lose much of its valuable properties or other oils/scents may have been added.
According to the National Geographic Green Guide, Argan Oil is defined as anti-aging, a deep moisturizer, anti-blemish, and anti-inflammatory.

All Argan sold today is produced by a women's cooperative that shares the profits among the local women of the Berber tribe. The cooperative has established an ecosystem reforestation project so that the supply of Argan oil will not run out and the income that is currently supporting the women will not disappear. The money is providing healthcare and education to the local women, and supporting the entire community as a whole.
