What is Ozonated Olive Oil?
Ozonated Olive Oil is produced when ozone (03) is bubbled through olive oil continuously for an extended period of time. OxyBalm™ is ozonated up to three months, continuously—24 hours per day. During this time the olive oil under goes a change to an off-white paste to form ozonated olive oil paste.

What is Ozonated Olive Oil used for?
Ozonated Olive Oil may be used for: eczema, cuts, burns and sunburn, fungal infections (including athlete's foot), fistulae, leg ulcers, bed sores, gingivitis, herpes simplex, hemorrhoids, vulvovaginitis, bee stings, insect bites, acne and any other skin related problem.

Who manufacturers Ozonated Olive Oil?
Many companies carry and sell ozonated olive oil. After much research, OAW trusts only one company's expertise—who has been making ozonated olive oil for years. OxyBalm™ from Oasis Serene Botanicals is formulated using only the finest organic cold pressed olive oil from Italy. OxyBalm™ is created using a cold plasma ozone generator. The benefit of using cold plasma (low frequency) ozone when producing ozonated oil is that no heat enters the oil. Traditional ozone generators (high frequency) produce heat upwards of 250 degrees which enters the oil. This can cause the oil to lose some of its beneficial properties. What is the shelf life of Ozonated Olive Oil?
There is no expiration date for ozonated olive oil. Some reports indicate that the balm is stable for up to 17 years when refrigerated or kept frozen. After 10 years of refrigeration, ozonated olive oil was tested by Dr. J. Hansler and found to be 98% as effective in its germicidal power.

What is the difference between ozonated olive oil liquid and ozonated olive oil balm/paste OxyBalm™?

When in balm form you know your oil is completely saturated with ozone (activated oxygen) and oxygen. Ozonated oil sold that is liquid has very little ozone saturation and is less effective or completely ineffective. As an example, the ratio of O2/O3 in liquid ozonated olive oil formulas can only contain up to a percentage of roughly 10%, whereas ozonated olive oil paste contains up to 50% saturated oxygen/ozone by volume. Depending on the amount of oil it can take weeks if not months to make fully ozonated oil. Different oils hold different amounts of ozone. Olive and sunflower oil rank as holding the most. The higher the oleic acid content of the oil the more ozone it will hold.

What is the difference between the "Original" and the "Lavender Scent"?

The original OxyBalm™ is ozonated olive oil with no added scent. We are pleased to be able to offer the same great ozonated olive oil with the addition of pure organic lavender essential oil. The lavender scent is not over-powering but just enough to take the edge off of the normal ozone scent.

Does liquid ozonated olive oil contain Ozone or Oxygen?

Mostly oxygen and maybe a small amount of ozone, but the % is quite a bit less and does not have the long time release which ozonated olive oil balm/paste does.

OxyBalm™ Usage

Used externally for skin conditioning. Apply 2-4 times daily as needed by rubbing into the affected areas. Some people like to use Oxy Balm™ one day on and one day off. For oxygen facials apply to face 1-2x per week. You may leave on the skin or wipe off after 20-30 minutes.

Packaging of OxyBalm™

OAW packages Oxy Balm™ in an amber glass 2-ounce jar with sealed lid. It is important that ozone not be packaged in plastic. Also a dark color or opaque jar is needed in order to assure that light does not compromise the balm.

Some customers express concerns about shipping the product non-refrigerated. Since ozonated olive oil has a very long shelf life even at room temperature, and we use temperatures of over 30C in the manufacturing process, a couple of days of shipping will not deteriorate the product. We do suggest that during summer months two-day shipping is chosen. Your order may arrive liquefied, but refrigeration will restore its paste consistency. OAW takes all precautions to ensure the potency of Oxy Balm™.

About Ozone

Ozone occurs very easily in nature, most frequently as a result of lightning strikes that occur during thunderstorms. The fresh, clean and invigorating air that we notice after thunderstorm results from ozone. The word ozone is derived from the Greek word "Ozein" meaning to smell. Ozone is also created by water falls and other natural sources.

Ozone has been used to purify water since 1893. Many countries, except for the USA, use ozone to keep swimming pools and spas clean and safe. Ozone is a universal cleansing agent.

Ozone is an unstable, but highly beneficial molecule. It's the tri-atomic form of oxygen. Instead of the normal arrangement of 2 atoms of oxygen (O2), ozone is comprised of 3 atoms of oxygen (O3). Ozone, however, will not stay in the tri-atomic state very long and unless held in check or bound by other molecular couplings, ozone will usually break down from O3 to O2 + O1 within 20 minutes or so (at atmospheric pressure). O1 is called a singlet oxygen atom and is HIGHLY REACTIVE with just about any substance that should NOT be in the human body including all pathogens (virus, bacteria, etc.) and synthetic compounds or their metabolites such as drugs and their metabolite residues.
