IMPORTANT! FLUSH NEW FILTER COMPLETELY BEFORE INITIAL USE.  FOLLOW DIRECTIONS BELOW.

1. Remove Filter Cap Assembly, fill bottle three-quarters full and replace cap tightly.
2. Hold bottle at about a 45-degree angle and squeeze bottle to force water through filter and up through straw.
3. Repeat this flushing process with two bottles of water before drinking.
4. When complete, replace filter cap assembly and secure tightly!
5. Bottle is now ready for use. Use with confidence and enjoy!

Maintenance and Storage

If not used for an extended period of time, you must flush the unit with a chlorinated solution (add 2 drops of chlorine to one bottle of water). Flush chlorinated water through the filter and allow filter to dry thoroughly with bottom cap removed. Re-assemble and store.

If the Wellness Sports Bottle straw becomes stuck, try applying a lubricant such as Olive Oil. We have found that strip of clear tape on the inside of the cap seems to work the best.

  Do NOT fill with HOT water, or anything other than WATER.
  Do not place Cartridge in dishwasher.

Cartridge Changing Procedures

1. Unscrew the Sport Bottle Cap from the Bottle.
2. Unscrew the Cartridge from the adapter that connects to the straw.
3. Screw on the new Cartridge. DO NOT OVERTIGHTEN! If the cartridge is over tightened the male adapter will break off.
4. Follow the INITIAL USE instructions to flush the Cartridge.


Wellness Sport Bottle Ionic Adsorption Micro Filtration Facts

This advanced technology was developed, refined, and proven through diligent investigative research and testing performed by water purification specialties, researchers, and engineers.
Removal of contaminants with activated coconut “AC” is a surface phenomenon known as adsorption, resulting from the molecular attraction of substances to the surface of the activated coconut carbon, as the bottle is pressed and the source water is forced through the filter.

The rate of adsorption is determined by the type, quality, and volume of “AC” used. The flow rate or time of exposure through the filter has been calculated to yield the greatest volume removal of toxic chemicals and heavy metals caused by the pollution of industry and agriculture.

The exclusive filter also incorporates proprietary absorbing media’s that are impregnated into the microporous filter for the IONIC adsorption of pollutants passing through the filter. The high-tech porous plastic micro-filter system also contains thousands of interconnected omni-directional pores resulting in a “torturous path” that cannot be duplicated by any other porous material; creating an extremely tight maze for pathogens to pass through.


Frequently Asked Questions – Wellness Water Bottle

Q: After following the instructions included with the Wellness Sports Bottle, there is still
an after taste. Am I doing something wrong?

A: You are probably not doing anything wrong. Sometimes it takes a little more to flush out the after taste. However, you may not be tasting trace minerals, but rather the special ceramic in the enhanced media. This sometimes takes a little longer to wash out. Another suggestion is to flush Distilled/RO water through it several more times. Distilled/RO water is aggressive and will pull the excess minerals from the water.

Q: Does the bottle remove sulphur from water?
A: Yes

Q: What keeps algae from growing on the filter or bottle?
A: The cartridge contains Wellness media that is designed to resist the growth of bacteria and algae.

Q: Which Wellness products remove nitrates?
A: The house system, sports bottle, and countertop model will remove all organic nitrates.

Q: Will the Wellness sports bottle fit into a cup holder in a car or a treadmill?
A: Yes, it is designed to fit into most cup holders.

Q: Can river, lake, or stream water be safely cleaned by the bottle?
A: Conditionally, yes. You should add either a drop of bleach or an iodine tablet to the bottle prior to filling it with water in order to disinfect the water. The bottle can be counted on to remove chlorine, iodone, and other contaminants. While the bottle will definitely remove parasites from the water, it is possible that bacteria may slip through if the cartridge is not screwed on all the way. By using a disinfectant, you are assured that nothing alive will pass through.

Q: What media is used in the filter?
A: The current bottle uses a carbon impregnated plastic cartridge that is designed to remove chlorine, chloramine, organics, arsenic, and lead. Wellness then adds multiple layers of powdered Bakuhan stone, powdered Taicho stone, magnetite, and a proprietary polishing media.

Q: Will the plastic material of the bottle leach into the water?
A: The sports bottle is made with non-leachable plastic. Even if the plastic did leach into the water, the cartridge would remove the plasticizers.

Q: My straw is sticking when I flip the cap:
A: Try applying a lubricant such as Olive Oil. We have found that strip of clear tape on the inside of the cap seems to work the best.

Q: While screwing the cartridge onto the straw, the cartridge adapter broke:
A: This breakage is due to over tightening. If the cartridge is over tightened the male adapter will
break off. A new cartridge will need to be purchased to use the Sports Bottle.

Q: It is very difficult to squeeze or suck the water through the straw:
A: Take a toothbrush and scrub the cartridge. This will clean any loose debris from the cartridge outer shell.
